Inspired by tools such as NotebookLM, the assistant allows learners to chat with onboarding handbooks in a controlled, source-based environment. Questions are routed to specific onboarding documents, answers are generated using only the relevant handbook content, and every response includes a page-level citation with a direct PDF link for traceability.
The system was designed to demonstrate how generative AI can be integrated into learning experiences in a structured and commercially viable way.
It was a wee bit complex as it's built using a combination of conversational AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), custom user interface design, document retrieval workflows, and source attribution mechanisms. The solution was designed to deliver trustworthy, context-aware responses while maintaining transparency through confidence indicators, source references, and escalation guidance.
